"One can never live without love. It's like a farmer to his precious farm: he wakes up every morning just to tend and harvest his crops. No farm, no farmer, eh? Stop asking these sort of questions, Paulo. Wait, are you in love?!"

Dr. Mazen El Serganny, Cardio-Thoracic Surgery Registrar

No, Doctor Mazen. I'm not in love.

I was doing my usual nursing routine when the aforementioned doctor asked why I was radiating differently than usual. Clearly, my hair was in its usual erected state, my uniform wasn't that polished as always and my demeanor was in its customary madness. Why the sudden remark from such a notable individual? Am I that radiant? Or its just me and my beloved paranoia?

No. Seriously. I am, as we speak, not IN LOVE with anyone in particular. Its just that I suddenly found myself in a situation wherein I tend to smile for no apparent reason. Yes, it does sound crazy and immature. But I do! Memories keep flooding my gray matter that curiously make my neurons go berserk! Madness! Absolutely madness, indeed!

I remember the very first time I ate a McDonald's Apple Pie. My mother asked what I would have for dessert after a very long walk to Quiapo Church. Being the curious whore that I am, I pointed the infamous Apple Pie and decided that this would be the perfect opportunity to try something new. Unfortunately, it was a complete disaster: the hot mixture burned my sinful tongue and the entire pie fell on my carefully pressed pants. The end.

By some twist of fate, I found out that eating the prior pie was a heavenly act. Each bite will drive any individual to abdominal orgasm accompanied by a severe drive for more. In addition, the dash of cinnamon creates an unimaginable sensation that'll seriously make your mouth water like the Nile river!  This is way too much! Grrrr. I WANT ONE! NOW!

You're like an apple pie to me; hot, steamy and utterly heaven. At first, the thought of placing your carefully crafted crust inside my sensitive lips was utterly disgusting and clearly unacceptable. But, as each day passed, I've learned to appreciate your very essence: the distinct apple and cinnamon mixture. Crispy, sweet and absolutely tempting.

Can I have you "To Go"? Please?

You have got to be KIDDING me!

I don't have anything against Sam Milby or anything, really. But the fact that he has the guts and the nerve to seriously audition for GLEE is way too much! Crap! Crap! Crap! And another CRAP!

Changes

[caption id="attachment_1034" align="aligncenter" width="590" caption="Are we there yet?"][/caption]

I knew that this day would eventually come. I just hid it somewhere at the back of my head, I guess. A day when the young ones will be forced to take bigger things seriously than ever. A day that marks the start of hard-hitting and painful reality. A day that will definitely change everyone's unique perspective. Unfortunately for me, I never knew that it would come so sudden.

Wow. I'm still in awe. Seriously.

Back in the good old days, we were as carefree as a group of toddlers in a crowded sandbox; build a nifty sandcastle here, throw a broken shovel there, and fight over a spare pink bucket. Simple, eh? At times, temper-tantrums would erupt from a jaded little girl in a corner cursing everyone in the homey sandbox.
"I will get y'all someday! I promise!" she said.

Giggle. Giggle. Giggle.

Of course, the ever patient teacher will eventually call out our names in an authoritative manner and ask us to say our most sincere apologies.

"Sorry na. 'Di na namin uulitin. Bati na tayo, okay?" we said in unison.

Of course, as toddlers, we tend to kiss each others cheeks, make up and start anew as if nothing happened. End of story.

Now, everything is about to change.

In a matter of weeks, days even, a big change will shake the very foundation of my professional career. Together with my young and feisty co-workers, I am about to embark into the abyss of adulthood, maturity and extra-responsibility. Full-time, perhaps. Its only a matter of time till I drown my head and heart out. Crap.

Will I be able to survive this herculean task? Well, probably. A couple of scratches here and bruises there won't hurt, right?

I'll live. Eventually. :-D

Being able to see and feel the City of Alexandria first hand was a very wonderful experience. The locals were accommodating, transportation was a breeze, the sights were phenomenal, and the seafood extravaganza was extremely astounding! Talk about prawns, for crying out loud! Haha.
