Lipsyncing

I was browsing through YouTube when I surprisingly stumbled upon this cool rendition of Billy Reid's "Lipsyncing to the the Song."

Wow! That seriously made my day!

Honestly, I was amazed and stunned by the sheer creativity of this video. Clearly, the performer was definitely into the whole thing. Not to mention the emotion that one can see thru the entire video. I was, without a doubt, laughing and smiling the whole time. Promise!

I love this recent interpretation better than its predecessor. It is complex, edgy and, evidently, up-to-date. I'll borrow my friends iPod touch tomorrow and try it out myself. Yippee!

Excess

I've been using the internet far too much these past few days that I've actually lacked the appropriate number of hours to be used for sleeping. Even my supervisor saw it in my eyes stating:
You did not sleep again last night, right?

Crap!

Yes, I did not get enough sleep last night. Or the night before. And the night before that. Even the night before that night.

Crap!

Come on. I have a Twitter, Multiply and Facebook account to manage, for crying out loud. I need to keep it updated every once in a while, right? Not to mention my beloved blog! Haha.

Crap!

I just realized that the internet can be a deadly tool, if used excessively and inappropriately. Grrrr. I can't focus on checking and recording the precise vital signs for my patients. Even answering a call bell can be so tiring. I feel drained and useless most of that time that I end up sitting the whole day staring at the company watch waiting for it to strike 20:00. Tik. Tok. Tik. Tok.

Crap!

Well, wish me luck. I can't seem to get my fingers away from my Mac's keyboard. It can be so addicting! Haha.

Crap!

I call this one "The Brownie Overload."

Try and try until you succeed, right?

Brownies, anyone?

[caption id="attachment_843" align="aligncenter" width="655" caption="Paulo's first take on brownies."][/caption]

I never fancied cooking.

The mere thought of buying ingredients, mixing every component and assuring that each element is well blended to the core makes my not-that-good of a brain go haywire. Argh! I recall, back in high school, my mother tried to teach me how to cook "Chicken Adobo" for supper; she carefully instructed how to chop this, mix that, and when to place that over the other one in 10 minutes. I was definitely clueless and flabbergasted! I even got my fingers burned! Grabe! Eventually, she cooked the "Chicken Adobo" herself and I forgot all about it.

Recently, I have been trying to find an outlet for my sudden emotional outbursts and decided to try the art and science of baking. Yes, you read that correctly. I will be trying very, very hard to bake something. Even if it entails a few burns here and a couple of cuts there, I will still try. There's nothing wrong in trying, right?

Anyways, here is my very first experiment: Brownies.

Yes, I know. The sides got burned, as well as the bottom. Nonetheless, I love it! It's hard on the outside but soft and warm on the inside. My housemate, JB, even praised my efforts stating:
"Wow! It looks and tastes like Red Ribbon! Nice job, Paulo. It's the best!"

From now on, I will definitely try baking. Seriously.

Australian Open 2010

[caption id="attachment_828" align="aligncenter" width="180" caption="Image courtesy of australianopen.com"][/caption]

Roger Federer has reaffirmed his Tennis supremacy by winning the 2010 Men's Singles Final against the 4th seed, Andy Murray, 6-3, 6-4, 7-6 (13-11).

The Swiss superstar showed the Englishman why he has been named as this era's greatest tennis player using a wide variety of techniques that kept the Brit guessing and physically exhausted. Roger's experience during critical moments proved far too great for Andy as he struggled with every rally during the entire match.

The first set showed Murray's determination to end the UK's 74-year long drought for a Grand Slam title with a superb performance all over the court. Unfortunately, Federer's choice of angles, combined with flawless foot work, earned him the first set at 6-3.

During the second set, Roger managed to break Andy's service game (3-1) giving the Swiss an early lead. But Andy's improving 1st serves (from 42% during the 1st set to 58% during the 2nd) gave him enough bearing to maintain a close match. Sadly, Fed's deep and decisive shots, along with his superb service, gave him the 2nd set, 6-4.

Throughout the 3rd set, both players showed why they deserve to be in the finals. Every Murray service was matched with Federer return that left the audience in awe. "C'mon Murray you can do it, c'mon" cried most of the fans as the UK's number 1 tennis player became another individual forcing the 28-year old Federer into a close and tricky tiebreak.

Andy Murray showed signs of fatigue as the thrilling tiebreak commenced while Roger Federer kept his head cool. Although Murray was putting pressure on his opponent's returns, he was unable to transform a number of key shots into well-deserved points that could have extended the match to a 4th set. So, after a theatrical 2-hour and 41-minute match, Roger Federer made history, again, by winning his 16th career Grand Slam Title at Melbourne.

"I can cry like Roger - it's a shame I can't play like him. I'd like to congratulate Roger, his achievements in tennis are incredible. To keep doing it year after year is pretty special. He was much better than me tonight so well done to him for that." uttered the emotional Murray as he received his runner's up plate.

Roger replied: "Andy, well done for your incredible tournament. You're too good a player not to win a Grand Slam so don't worry about it. I'm over the moon winning this again. I played some of the best tennis again of my life these last two weeks."

Again, congratulations to Roger Federer for this momentous triumph. See you in Paris! I can't wait!
