UAAP Season 70 Volleyball Champions

FEU Obviously, everybody witnessed how the FEU Lady Tamaraws won the championship of the 70th season of the UAAP Women's Volleyball at The Arena in San Juan after 5 nerve-wrecking sets. Incredible sets from Semana and Abanto, not to mention the power of Cafranca, Gonzales, and Morada, and the smart moves from Daquis overcame the very athletic AdU. The only thing that bothered me was the way Taganas and Morada acted inside the court. Tama ba namang mag-drawing ng curve or raindow or whatever sa kabilang court?! Wow, talk about respect for your opponent, sister. The school officials should not be tolerant to such behavior and that also applies to Taganas and Cafranca. Anyways, congratulations to the FEU Lady Tamaraws on their 30th Women's Volleyball Championship.

Adamson Unfortunately, I prefer the AdU lady Falcons over the Morayta-based squad. Clearly, they've shown that hard work seriously pays off. Strong floor defense, smart attacks and power hits were very evident in all of their games (except when they lost to UST twice). Laguilles was so smart when it comes to her attacks, Serafica was generous in all of her sets, and Benting was simply amazing. Of course, my favorite would have to be Segodine. She has the talent and all, plus the attitude. I like the eye's thing after her powerful spike against the FEU blockers. *wink* *wink*Haha. :) Gotta watch her out next season.

UST By the way, congratulations to the UST Men's Volleyball Team for winning the Men's division. To think that FEU's the defending champion and having 2 powerful players from the National team (Mabbayad and Lopez) makes them a very formidable team. Wow. Nonetheless, it is a hard-earned victory for UST thanks to tons of hard work and overflowing confidence. Dimaculangan had a lot of options for UST's offense (Balse, Torres, Pecaña, Roque, Ilano, and Ramos) and the bench players of Coach Emil Lontoc is definitely a powerhouse, especially Say who always scores a point whenever he's inside the court. Again, a well deserved win for the UST Men's Volleyball Team.

Scores: UST def. FEU (3-2) : 25-20, 23-25, 25-19, 20-25, 15-11

Season 70 MVP : Reno Roque

VIVA SANTO TOMAS! Yipee! :)

  2. the lady falcons should have won the championship against FEU had it not for gata who had a lot of errors in the crucial stretch of the 4th and 5th set. . .coach pante had a lot of time to replace her with someone more powerful as a receiver but i was wondering why she didn't do so. .gata is a bit small and she lacks the power to receive strong spikes from the opposing team. anyway, better luck next time to the lady falcons.

  4. i know everyone will comment regarding how the FEU women players acted or the way segodine acted when inside the court. i was once a player for national competitions. and i say, when you're a player, u can't stop being emotional and being carried away by the game, specially when the game is a championship game and it's neck-and-neck. it's unavoidable. trashtalking and all the stuffs players do when playing are all normal. i've experienced being personally attacked through trashtalking inside the court. it demoralized me as a player. if u don't fight back, u'll lose focus on the game and lose confidence also. outside the court, after all those trashtalkings and stuffs, we were friends. true. we would even visit each other's quarters and laugh at the game. there is nothing personal and serious about it. the importance of all those trashtalking and unnecessary actions of the players is to distract the opponent and to demoralize them. it is not to be boastful. (except joseph yeo and rico villanueva who brings their personal fight inside and outside the court.) so, just try to understand them. they did all those to boost up their morale and confidence.

Mary Jean Balse is a good and versatile player. Not to mention that she played for the SEA games na din. Plus, she's very accommodating in person. I am a Thomasian so I always go for these gals. UST is not proud of their skill. I think its just the publics perception that they are mayabang since they're a powerhouse team. Wow. Someone who once played for the Nationals' reading my blog?! Cool! I was just taken aback by Morada's action. I have nothing against her, seriously. Too much trash talk, perhaps?

  9. You know what I really find FEU super jologs and they're like walang pinagaralan 'coz the way they act inside the court. To think na HALOS HINDI NGA NILA MATALO ANG AdU!!!! And when it comes to Xfactor halos mga walang K.. Sa Shakey's V-League and UAAP season 69.. Dapat nga Hall of Fame na sila.. As in Super Famous UST!!Kaya pagbigyan naman ang iba..

  12. NIce blog... i've been looking for this info too for the men's event... sumablay kc ung "electrical" ng the arena, bumigay ata ung power supply or whatever... but as i've watched, both teams deserve to win, but just as both coaches mentioned, it's heart who'll win it...
Daquis could've been a reason for their team to lose, but she just showed poise... she delivered when her team needed most, abanto did a very good job taking charge when they're troubled... Well deserve championship by the lady tams... COngrats to the finals MVP, Wendyanne Semana, Job well done for morada, cafranca, gonzales... UST men's, they just showed toughness, inspite of playing against international players specially mabbayad, monster spiker with the best setter... they just showed that it's not always the star players game, teamwork & solid defense leads to championships...

  15. to JAMES ALLAN SALAZAR! kung wala kang sasabihing maganda to any team will you please shut up! Let's say na hindi nga pang beauty queen ang ganda ni Balse but did you see her play? She's very good!Wala ka cgurong alam pagadating sa volley ball. you don't understand plays and strategies. They are not mayabang they are just enjoying themselves. Kahit sinong player naman, when he/ she made a difference for his/her team ay magiging happy. Look at all the posting in this site, yung iba na nagpost dito kahit hindi sila fan ng FEU, they stil congratulate the team who won, that's sportmanship. Diba guys? we should know how to accept loss and failures. di lahat ng time ang mga teams natin na sinusuportahan ang mananalo. So to ALLAN JAMES SALAZAR. Get lost, dka bagay sa postings dito. You're a trash! To all the Uaap Volleyball teams, Good Luck! Specially to UST.

  16. Sa tingin nyo ba may pinagaralan na kayo nyan? Sana before nyo ijudge yung mga players sa attitude nila check nyo muna sarili nyo. Basahin nyo nga yung mga comments nyo kung yan ba ang right attitude ng isang may pinag aralan to think na from good schools kayo galing. Yeah, may freedom tayo to comment pero sna in a nice way. I think its unavoidable, especially maganda yung laban. Ako Im a FEU fan and im proud to be FEU grad. And everyone is also proud of their alma mater. So cgro konti respect nlng kasi everything we do and say reflects and bounces back sa school we are from. Wish ko lang wala ako na offend. Peace!

  17. inferness it wasn't morada who started to act childish during the final game...it was segodine(adu) my dear....i guess they were just pist off....besides i think its all about school's pride....maybe there's a different intensity of emotion inside the court as players than just a viewer or a fan...

    --peace--
