I do. Or something of that sort, I suppose.
I was on my 2nd year in college when my "jock" buddies ushered me into a dimly lit bar east of the campus on a Friday night. Being the neophyte of the pack, I followed their lead and drank anything on the table, mostly beer. Reminisce here. Jokes flew there. Blah. Blah. Blah. The orders went on and on and by the time I realized that I had enough alcohol, my vomitus was written all over the street and I was relentlessly crying my heart out! Curses!
I have nothing against alcoholic beverages. In fact, these things usually foster and forge lifelong friendships among men of my age and, most likely, produce memorable events that either end up in a fist fight or tons of laughter. Plus, the unique feeling it produces (usually termed as "high") makes things even more exciting. One can never tell what could possibly happen after the next shot of vodka!
Unfortunately, what I seriously loath about this vice is the unacceptable "hangover." The unexplainable body pain and unbearable headache can be tough to newcomers especially with strong distilled beverages such as gin, vodka and tequila. Ron, a co-worker, once posted this status update on his Facebook account stating:
Ron E. Misoles is finally recovering from the worst hangover I've experienced so far in my life that knocked me down the whole day. Damn, I promise myself not to get drunk ever again. Really, from the bottom of my heart I say that!
See what I mean?
Nevertheless, this social leisure will stay as long as the public will drink responsibly and within their personal limits. Learn to stop and say "No" even to your closest drinking buddies. And never ever drink and drive because accidents do happen.
Coffee, anyone?
